仮定法の注意すべき表現について解説します。 以下の3つがあります。これらは、熟語のように覚えてしまいましょう。 1．If only + 仮定法過去（仮定法過去完了） ～ . If only the rain would stop. 「雨が、やみさえすればよいのだが。」 If only you had sent e-mail. 「彼は、メールを送りさえすればよかったのだが。」 2．in your position 「あなたの立場なら」 I would not do it in your position. この文は、以下のif節を用いた仮定法の文と同じ意味です。 I would not do it if I were in your position. 3．To hear O speak[talk] 「Oが話すのを聞いたら」 To hear him speak English, you would think he is American. この文は、以下のif節を用いた仮定法の文と同じ意味です。 If you heard him speak English, you would think he is American. 特に、2と3はifを使わない仮定法なので注意しましょう。 |
